How to cook Cilantro Lime Rice using Basmati rice?

Cilantro lime rice is a combination of colorful cilantro and fresh lime to create a perfect side dish.
Long grain Basmati rice is famous for its marvelous flavor and less starchiness. It stays a little dry and separated even after being cooked, so it is the perfect rice for cilantro and lime rice recipes.
Ingredients:
Long grain white Basmati rice 1 cup
Bay leaf 1
Salt ¼ tsp
Water 2 cups
Lime ½ (juiced)
Cilantro ½ cup, finely chopped
Recipe:
Wash the rice and drain it well. Add rice, bay leaf, water and salt in a pot and bring it to a boil. Cover the pot with a lid and bring it to a simmer. Cook for almost 15 minutes or until the water gets absorbed. Remove it from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add lime juice, cilantro and salt.
Your rice is ready to serve.
Recipe notes:
If you want to save time, you can use instant rice. Just be sure to use Basmati, long grain white or brown rice and don’t boil it too much as instant rice is par-cooked.
